Raul Malo, Lead Singer of The Mavericks, Dies at 60

Raul Malo, the powerful and unforgettable voice behind the band The Mavericks, has died at the age of 60. His family and band members confirmed his death on Monday. Malo had been fighting cancer for more than a year.

Raul Malo helped form The Mavericks in 1989 with Paul Deakin and Robert Reynolds. The group quickly became known for mixing many styles of music, including country, rock, Latin, and swing.
