Global Africa Summit’s Washington DC Edition Unites Africa and Its Diaspora, Sets Stage for Accra Gathering

Accra, Ghana — The Global Africa Summit (GAS), organised by the Africa Investment Network (AIN), has successfully concluded its Washington DC Edition, marking a significant milestone in efforts to deepen collaboration between Africa and its global diaspora under the theme Global Partnerships: Fuelling Africa’s Development and Collective Prosperity.”

As promised during its official launch in Accra, Ghana in July 2025, the Washington DC gathering delivered on its mission to strengthen cross-continental ties, expand economic cooperation, and mobilise African and diaspora resources for inclusive growth.

Held at the Catholic University of America, GAS DC assembled more than 300 influential delegates from Africa, North America, the Caribbean, Europe, and other regions.

The summit opened with remarks from Mrs. Jane Reindorf-Osei, Founder and CEO of the Africa Investment Network, who emphasised the urgent need to harness diaspora capital and build stronger global partnerships.

She reaffirmed AIN’s commitment to cultivating a unified global economic ecosystem that brings together governments, entrepreneurs, investors and policy leaders to drive shared prosperity.

Across two days, delegates participated in high-level plenaries, fireside chats and sector-focused breakout sessions spanning finance, agribusiness, healthcare, technology, education, renewable energy, real estate and the creative industries.

Notable moments included goodwill remarks from Aisha Braveboy, Prince George’s County Executive, and a keynote address by Kofi Okyere-Darko (KOD) of the Diaspora Affairs Office at the Presidency of Ghana, centred on bridging continents for collective advancement.

The summit concluded with the Global Africa Summit Dinner Gala, hosted by ABC News 7’s Jasmine Styles. The gala honoured changemakers across the continent and diaspora, featuring live music from South Africa’s Ntebo, a Pan-African fashion showcase, and tributes to leaders driving Africa’s modern renaissance.

With the DC edition setting strong momentum, preparations now turn toward Accra, where the next Global Africa Summit will be held on December 11–12, 2025 at the Alisa Hotel.

The Accra gathering is expected to bring together heads of state, ministers, ambassadors, global investors, business leaders, diaspora entrepreneurs, innovators and creatives.

The Accra edition will spotlight Africa’s innovation strengths and the expanding potential of Africa–diaspora partnerships across technology and AI, renewable energy, Fintech, agriculture, infrastructure, tourism and the creative economy.

“We are proud to bring the Global Africa Summit series to Accra,” said Jane Reindorf-Osei. “This is a pivotal moment to deepen cross-Atlantic partnerships and expand opportunities for sustainable, diaspora-driven investment.”
