Actress Tara Reid says she was drugged at a hotel bar near Chicago and is ready to take legal action. She has filed a police report with the Rosemont Police Department.
The incident reportedly happened while Reid was attending a celebrity event at the hotel. She said she ordered a glass of wine at the bar and later stepped outside with a man who introduced himself as a “successful influencer and YouTuber.”
Reid claims that when she returned from a smoke break, she noticed a napkin covering her drink, which she did not place there.
She drank from the glass anyway. Her next memory, she says, is waking up in a hospital about eight hours later. She said she cannot remember what happened in between.
Video footage shows Reid in a wheelchair, appearing confused and slurring her words. Later, she was taken out on a stretcher by paramedics.
According to her police report, the man she met allegedly sent her videos showing her in a drugged state. She said the man tried to use the videos to threaten her, offering to “stop the videos” from being shared. Reid said she is “willing to prosecute” him.
Police are investigating the incident. They are working with hotel staff to review video footage and gather more evidence. Reid is cooperating with the investigation.
Reid has asked the public to stay careful when leaving drinks unattended. She described the experience as traumatic and has asked for privacy while the case is being handled.
This case highlights the dangers of drink tampering and the importance of staying alert in public places.
