The hospital directive follows the release of a 20-page national survival guide, developed since 2022, aimed at helping French citizens prepare for emergencies ranging from armed conflict to natural disasters.
The guide outlines 63 essential measures, including stockpiling drinking water, canned food, batteries, and medical kits. It also provides practical advice on responding to nuclear threats, joining local defense forces, and ensuring family safety during wartime.
Rising Defense Spending and Geopolitical Tensions
The French government’s war preparedness efforts come as the country increases its defense budget from 2% to between 3% and 3.5% of its economic output.
