Chelsea and Arsenal played a tense and dramatic London derby at Stamford Bridge, ending in a 1–1 draw. Chelsea had to fight hard for the result after midfielder Moises Caicedo was sent off in the first half.
The key moment came in the 38th minute. Caicedo made a strong challenge on Arsenal’s Mikel Merino, and after a VAR check, the referee changed the yellow card to a red card. This meant Chelsea had to play the rest of the match with only ten players.
Despite the setback, Chelsea showed strong spirit in the second half. Just two minutes after the restart, Trevoh Chalobah scored the opening goal. He jumped highest to meet a corner from Reece James and headed the ball into the net, giving Chelsea a 1–0 lead.
Arsenal answered quickly. In the 59th minute, Merino scored the equaliser with a powerful header after receiving a good cross from Bukayo Saka. Arsenal controlled the ball for most of the second half, but Chelsea stayed organised and defended well.
The match was heated, with several fouls and yellow cards as both sides fought for control. Arsenal pushed for a winning goal, but Chelsea’s defence and goalkeeper stood strong until the final whistle.

After the match, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca praised his team for their determination and teamwork, especially after going down to ten men. For Chelsea, earning a point under such difficult conditions felt like a positive result. For Arsenal, it was a missed chance to take all three points.
In the end, both teams shared the points, but Chelsea’s resilience made the draw feel almost like a win for the home side.
