Doris Boaduwaa Named Female Player of the Year at 2025 Ghana Football Awards

Black Queens forward Doris Boaduwaa has been named the Female Player of the Year at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards, held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.

Boaduwaa beat strong competition from Alice Kusi, a fellow national teammate, and Mary Berko of Police Ladies to claim the coveted award.

The former Hasaacas Ladies star enjoyed a standout debut season with Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel, where she finished as the club’s top scorer with 18 goals, despite the team falling short of winning the Israeli Premier League title.

A consistent performer for the Black Queens, Boaduwaa has remained a key figure in the national setup under head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, even amid a rocky start to his tenure.

She is expected to play a central role for Ghana as the team prepares for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
