‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ Actor Floyd Roger Myers Jr. Dies at 42

Floyd Roger Myers Jr., a former child actor best known for his role in the hit TV show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has died at the age of 42. His family said he passed away early Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at his home in Maryland after suffering a heart attack. His mother, Renee Trice, confirmed that he had survived three earlier heart attacks before this one.

Myers became known in 1992 when he played a young version of Will Smith’s character in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. That same year, he also acted as young Marlon Jackson in the miniseries The Jacksons: An American Dream. His last acting role was in the TV drama Young Americans in 2000.

After leaving Hollywood, Myers focused on helping others. He co-founded a group called The Fellaship Men’s Group, which supports men’s mental health and empowerment. His friends described him as a kind, funny, and caring person who always tried to lift others up.

 

Myers is survived by his four children: Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler, and Knox. His sister, Tyree Trice, shared a heartfelt message on social media, calling him “a loving father, brother, and friend who touched everyone with his warmth and laughter.”

Following his death, a GoFundMe page was set up to help cover funeral costs and support his children. Members of The Fellaship Men’s Group also posted a tribute, saying, “Rest in peace to our good brother and co-founder. You will never be forgotten. We will keep your mission alive.”

The news of Floyd Roger Myers Jr.’s passing has saddened many fans and colleagues. Though his time in Hollywood was short, he left a mark through his roles and later through his community work. He will be remembered for his talent, kindness, and love for his family.
