Prosecutors Seek Over 11 Years in Prison for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs

According to reports, federal prosecutors in the United States are seeking over 11 years in prison for music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs following his conviction on two counts of transportation for the purposes of prostitution.

In a memo released to the judge, they argued that Combs is “unrepentant” and left victims in fear despite the fact that he was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges. The prosecutors argued that the defendant will not be punished for any crimes of which he was acquitted, but punishment for his crimes of conviction must take into account the manner in which he committed them.

They went further to argue that Combs held all the power over the people he transported, particularly Cassie Ventura, one of his victims who ended up “bloodied and busied,” as depicted on hotel security camera video. They also argued that the sentence should reflect Combs’ decades of unchecked violence and decades of psychological, emotional and physical damage he has inflicted.

Meanwhile, Combs will remain in custody pending till his sentencing, which is tentatively set for October 3, 2025. It could be recalled that on September 22, 2025, the defense of Combs submitted its pre-sentence arguments, reiterating that the 55-year old has suffered enough during his nearly 13 months in detention, and that he should be freed soon.

They stated that he became a changed person in a Brooklyn federal lockup, where he has been under constant suicide watch and learned to react calmly to threats rather than violently, even when a fellow inmate confronted him with a shiv. They also stated that Combs has realized that his overuse of drugs, including some prescribed by doctors, had contributed to the violent acts he committed.

It remains to be seen what the fate of Combs unfolds. The fact that the prosecutors are adamant that he deserves to be locked up behind bars for the foreseeable future proves to be detrimental to the case of the music mogul. The Judge has the responsibility to decide on his sentencing with the hope that he gets a fair hearing and both parties are satisfied with the outcome.
